Community Legal Education Ontario (CLEO) announced that Anne Marie Predko is the acting director of the CLEO Community Support Centre during the next few months.

In this role, Predko will be leading efforts to build the Community Support Centre, a new initiative for CLEO, funded by the Law Foundation Ontario under the Catalyst Grant category. It will bring together under one structure current programs that you can see on the website — Connecting Communities, the Centre for Research and Innovation and Community Worker Training Program (as well as a number of subcategories under those headings), the PLEI Learning Exchange and research and resources.

According to CLEO’s press release, Predko has extensive experience and skills relating to law and policy, strategy and management, as well as a strong commitment to social justice and to serving communities that are marginalized.

The non-profit legal aid organization also announced that executive director Julie Mathews will be on leave for the next few months on a Community Leadership in Justice fellowship with the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law. During Mathews’ leave, CLEO organizational matters will be in the hands of Jane Withey.
