DLA Piper (Canada) LLP announced that Jerritt R. Pawlyk has joined the firm as a partner in the Edmonton office.
According to the firm’s press release, Pawlyk has a restructuring and insolvency practice and is an experienced advocate and adviser for clients across many industries, in particular the real estate and real estate finance sector.
With over 15 years representing clients in all aspects of the insolvency process, Pawlyk has acted extensively for lenders, distressed companies, receivers, creditors, trustees, monitors and other professionals in all types of proceedings. In addition to his restructuring work, Pawlyk also advises on builders’ liens and other construction related issues, as well as commercial litigation, especially when these issues intersect with insolvency.
The press release notes that Pawlyk joins DLA Piper from Bishop & McKenzie where he was partner for a number of years.
“We are pleased to welcome Jerritt to the Edmonton office,” said Robert Seidel, Canada managing partner. “He is an excellent addition to our expanding restructuring and insolvency group and his breadth of experience including real estate and construction related insolvency matters will significantly enhance our ability to advise our clients on important issues in these areas.”
