Four associates join Miller Thomson

Miller Thomson announced that associates Eric Laxton, Asim Iqbal and Eduard Popov have joined the Toronto office, while associate Rebecca Grosz is the newest member of the firm’s office in Vaughan, Ont.

According to the firm’s press release, Laxton brings creativity and a vibrant attitude to his real estate practice, with a focus on land development and condominium law. He has extensive experience in land acquisitions, financing and sales, as well as condominium development and governance.

Iqbal’s practice focuses on insolvency and restructuring law. He has substantial experience representing a broad range of stakeholders in informal workouts and formal proceedings under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act and Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, including financial institutions, secured creditors, purchasers, court officers, directors, bondholders, landlords, suppliers and unsecured creditors.

Popov practises in the areas of bankruptcy and restructuring, and insolvency litigation. He continues to build his practice with a focus on assisting businesses on debt enforcement matters, bankruptcy and restructuring.

Grosz practises in all areas of family law, with a particular focus on complex property and equalization, child and spousal support and high conflict custody and access disputes. She has experience navigating corporate, tax, estate and business valuation issues in family law matters. Grosz frequently represents clients before all levels of the Ontario courts, including the Court of Appeal, as well as at private mediations and arbitrations.
