The Vancouver office of Dentons has taken on a new counsel who specializes in American immigration law.

Ellen Kief will assist corporate clients and organizations with issues pertaining to American business immigration. A dual U.S. and Canadian citizen, Kief worked in Boston where her practice involved U.S. cross-border travel, business visas, investor visas, family visas, permanent residence and citizenship.

Kief is a leader in the legal and business communities on issues regarding Canada-U.S. relations. She is vice-president of the executive board of the New England-Canada Business Council (NECBC) and serves on the board of the American Chamber of Commerce in Vancouver. Kief chairs the committee organizing events for the Congressional Relations-National Day of Action on behalf of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) New England chapter. Previously, she was chair of the Boston Bar Association's (BBA) immigration section and served on the BBA education law practice committee.

“Ellen’s vast and unique experience in U.S. immigration law is a perfect complement to the impressive Canadian immigration practice we have already established,” said John Sandrelli, managing partner of Dentons’ Vancouver office. “Ellen’s particular skill set is directly aligned with our clients’ needs, and will enable our team to expand the breadth and depth of services we provide on U.S. immigration support to our corporate clients across Canada.”
