Six Stewart McKelvey associates named partner

Stewart McKelvey is starting off the new year by adding six new partners in three of its Atlantic Canada offices. All were associates at the firm.

Ruth Trask and Joe Thorne work out of the St. John’s office, Marc Reardon and Tipper McEwan are in Halifax and Katherine Toner and Nicholas Russon are part of the Fredericton team.

Trask’s practice involves administrative law, litigation, business disputes and human rights and discrimination cases.

Thorne has a number of specialities including corporate and commercial litigation, insurance, administrative law, class actions, insolvency and restructuring and maritime law.

Reardon has a commercial and commercial litigation practice with a focus on securities and corporate finance, financial services, owner-managed businesses, commercial real property and intellectual property (IP).

McEwan is a litigator who works primarily in the areas of insurance defence, commercial litigation and real property. He also handles general litigation and administrative law and expropriation clients.

Toner’s areas of practice are civil litigation, insurance law, personal injury, health and agricultural litigation, as well as medical malpractice claims and professional discipline matters.

Russon has business-focused practice, handling matters involving corporate and commercial issues, municipal, infrastructure and public-private partnerships (P3) matters, owner-managed businesses and IP and trademarks.
