DLA Piper (Canada) LLP announced that Fabjola Gera has joined the firm’s Edmonton office as an associate in the corporate group.

Gera maintains a corporate commercial practice and has experience with drafting and negotiating corporate restructuring documents, contract and commercial lease reviews and business risk assessments.

She has represented both vendors and purchasers in asset and share purchases. Gera has also assisted on trademark applications, trademark opinions and securities matters.

Prior to joining the firm, Gera articled and practised at a professional legal and lobby firm in Alberta, where she maintained a corporate commercial practice and assisted with commercial litigation matters and trademark files.

In 2014, Gera was named by Edmontonians Magazine as one of Edmonton’s “Sizzling Twenty under 30 (Upcoming Entrepreneurs and Community Leaders)” and that same year MacEwan University awarded her the Zita and John Rosen Memorial Leadership Award and the Laurence Decore Award for Student Leadership. She continues to be actively involved in her community and currently serves on the YWCA Advocacy Committee.
