Two new partners to join McInnes Cooper in new year

Two new lawyers have been admitted to the McInnes Cooper partnership effective Jan. 1, 2019.

Alex Templeton (St. John’s) maintains a litigation practice focusing on contracts, insurance, regulatory enforcement, natural resources and energy projects, privacy and access to information, and professional liability disputes.

He regularly represents public institutions (universities, colleges, municipalities) and private companies in a variety of industry sectors (oil and gas, energy, mining, insurance, construction, telecommunications).

He has appeared before all levels of court in Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as before the Federal Court of Canada and numerous boards and tribunals.

David Wallace (Halifax) has a broad practice, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and securities, venture capital financing, corporate law, information technology (IT), sports and entertainment and privacy.

He has extensive experience in establishing business structures and the negotiation of various corporate and commercial agreements, including asset and share purchase agreements, IT outsourcing agreements, franchise agreements and joint venture agreements.

He advises clients in various industries across multiple sectors on a range of regulatory and general corporate law matters.

Wallace is the co-lead of the firm’s startup group.
