Gowling WLG welcomed Lesley Kim to its national tax group as a partner based in the firm’s Calgary office.

According to Gowling’s press release, Kim focuses her practice on domestic and international tax law, with an emphasis on corporate and individual income taxation, including in the context of cross-border transactions, corporate reorganizations, public and private company financings, mergers and acquisitions, IPOs and dispute resolution with Canada’s taxing authorities.

Pairing a nuanced understanding of Canadian tax law with a broad background in corporate and securities law, including experience working directly within the Alberta Securities Commission, Kim offers clients a complete perspective of the tax implications surrounding their most complex transactions.

“As Canada’s corporate landscape continues to undergo significant dynamism in the wake of the pandemic, we know that swift access to sophisticated tax advice remains a major priority for our clients,” Regina Corrigan, office managing partner of Gowling WLG’s Calgary office, said in the news release. “With her proven ability to seamlessly align her clients’ tax strategies with their commercial objectives, Lesley promises to be an outstanding addition to our growing team.”
