New associate joins DLA Piper’s Toronto office

DLA Piper (Canada) LLP announced that Emma Cosgrave has joined the firm’s Toronto office as an associate in the litigation, arbitration and investigations group.  

According to the firm’s press release, Cosgrave maintains a commercial litigation practice with a focus on construction law. She assists clients with a wide array of construction issues, including delay claims, breach of trust actions, construction liens, professional negligence and contract disputes.

Cosgrave joins DLA Piper after working at a commercial litigation firm in Mississauga, Ont. Prior to that, she articled at a construction litigation boutique where she worked on high-profile construction arbitration and litigation files.

While in law school at Queen’s University, Cosgrave worked as a teacher’s assistant at the Smith School of Business, assisting in educating undergraduates in the school’s business law course. In her second year of law school, she worked as a summer student at a legal aid clinic in Kingston, Ont.
