New prison justice society established on East Coast

Marginalized groups often experience the most significant access to justice issues, and no one may grapple more with those harsh realities than inmates in Canada’s federal and provincial prisons. Now a new non-profit group based in Atlantic Canada wants to spotlight — and correct — the problems prisoners face. The East Coast Prison Justice Society is working to identify gaps in the prison system and address them through legal support, advocacy and education.
