Errant jury instruction on aiding and abetting leads to new trial in first-degree murder case

The Ontario Court of Appeal has ordered a new trial for two men convicted of first-degree murder in a decision, counsel said, highlights the need for balanced jury instruction.

In R. v. Mendez 2018 ONCA 354, the court heard that Jordan Mendez and Shamaree Wilson, the appellants, were convicted of first-degree murder in the death of Joel Waldron.
