Mathews Dinsdale & Clark LLP announced that James C. McKeown and Dan Attwell have joined the employment law firm’s partnership.

McKeown, a labour and employment lawyer, will work out of the firm’s Toronto office. According to the firm’s press release, he is focused on guiding employers through Ontario Labour Relations Board proceedings such as certification applications and unfair labour practice complaints.

He also has experience with collective bargaining and grievance arbitration in the union setting, as well as human rights tribunal proceedings. McKeown assists employers with both union and non-union workforces in a wide range of industries, particularly contractors of all sizes in the construction industry as they manage relationships with Ontario’s construction trade unions.

Attwell, a member of the firm’s employment law and litigation practice group in Toronto, maintains a diverse employment litigation practice, including wrongful dismissal actions, human rights, unlawful competition by departed employees and injunctive relief against unlawful picketing activities.
