DLA Piper, women’s group seek to boost diversity, inclusion in power industry

As part of its diversity and inclusiveness (D&I) initiatives, DLA Piper Canada announced it has teamed up with Women+Power, an organization dedicated to creating a ‎more diverse and inclusive power industry, and to provide opportunities to connect with, support, inspire and recognize each other to empower women to achieve their full potential both professionally and personally.

According to DLA Piper’s news release, since formally launching over a year ago, Women+Power has become a prominent voice in ‎‎the industry. DLA Piper is proud to be part of the community initiatives created by Women+Power as it works towards transformational change. DLA Piper counsel Katrina Edgerton-‎McGhan and partner Patrick Roche have been avid ‎supporters of Women+Power with Edgerton-McGhan serving as the chair of the board.

Women+Power has ‎provided a number of seminars on timely D&I matters. Recently, partner Heather Treacy and Edgerton-McGhan chaired a wellness seminar (“Building ‎Resilience in a Pandemic”) focusing on pandemic mental health, in partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association.
