New immigration partner for BARTLAW LLP

BARTLAW LLP announced that Carrie Wright is the Toronto immigration firm’s newest partner.

“I am immensely proud to welcome this talented and remarkable lawyer to join the firm as a partner,” said Jacqueline Bart, the firm’s managing partner in a press release. “Ms. Wright’s admission to partnership is in recognition of her outstanding advice and service to the firm’s clients. Her work at the firm exemplifies the legal excellence and the high level of client service that distinguishes our firm in the marketplace.”

Since joining BARTLAW LLP in August 2011, Wright has practised in the area of Canadian immigration and citizenship law. Prior to joining BARTLAW LLP, Wright was a law clerk at the Federal Court from 2009 to 2011 (including for the current chief justice).

According to the firm’s press release, she has represented numerous employers on Service Canada and IRCC employer compliance reviews and has provided defensive work on all potential non-compliance issues and is the firm’s lead on criminal admissibility and equivalency of foreign offences. Wright is responsible for Federal Court applications for leave and judicial review and is in her second term as newsletter editor at the Ontario Bar Association’s Immigration Section Executive.

Wright has been published extensively since joining BARTLAW LLP and has contributed to several law books and articles.
