McCarthy Tétrault announced that Montreal partner Annie Gagnon-Larocque has been named a fellow of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys (ACMA).

According to a press release from McCarthyTétrault, the ACMA is a professional organization of 500 North American lawyers who are experts in mortgage law. Fellows distinguish themselves as practitioners through their skill and experience, bar association activities, lecturing, authorship, legislative work and arguing cases of significance to mortgage transactions.

“Annie is a remarkable lawyer with a keen eye for complex and creative deals,” said Karl Tabbakh, regional managing partner for Quebec. “At a time when our clients in the senior housing, retail and hospitality sectors are looking for innovative ways to finance and refinance projects affected by the pandemic, Annie keeps one eye on the present real property landscape and another on where it will be when COVID-19 is over.”

Gagnon-Larocque is a member of the Montreal office’s real property and planning group, where she advises clients on real estate acquisitions and financing, property development, commercial leasing and joint venture transactions.
