Langlois lawyers announced that insurance law practitioner Hugues Duguay has joined the firm as a partner in its Montreal office.

Over the years Duguay has advised many insurance companies on the scope and interpretation of policies covering property, commercial liability, professional liability, directors’ and officers’ liability and the liability of manufacturers and professional sellers. He has also developed expertise in civil and commercial litigation.

He holds a law degree from the University of Ottawa and a master’s degree from the New York University School of Law. In addition to his law practice, Duguay works pro bono at the bar of Montreal “Visez Droit” salon, which provides free legal consultations to the public.

“Hugues is widely recognized for his expertise in insurance and liability matters. His arrival enhances the quality of our insurance and liability law team, one of the largest in Quebec, and helps position Langlois as the leading firm in this area,” said Jean-François Gagnon, the firm’s chief executive officer.
