New partner for Fasken’s tech group in Calgary

Fasken announced that new partner Tony Morris has joined its technology, media and telecommunications group in the Calgary office.

According to Fasken’s press release, an experienced corporate commercial lawyer, Morris’s practice spans technology, privacy and intellectual property law. He advises on negotiating and implementing a variety of technology related transactions and agreements including e-commerce, cloud computing, privacy, technology outsourcing and product and service acquisitions.

“Tony’s combined experience in technology and privacy law enhances our ability to serve clients in these key areas that are increasingly demanding the attention of business leaders across the country,” said Clarke Barnes, co-managing partner, Calgary.

“Tony will add key strength to our Emerging Tech practice as well as to our intellectual property team advising on issues relevant to this important sector of our economy,” added Robert Maxwell, co-managing partner, Calgary.

Morris has also advised on privacy requirements, governance, commercial transactions and technology procurement for public and private sector organizations.
