McCarthy Tétrault LLP was one of the recipients of the 3rd Annual Canadian Fintech and AI Awards.

The firm captured the law or professional services firm of the year category. Other categories included financial institution of the year, fintech startup of the year, and blockchain/digital currency or distributed ledger company of the year.

The awards are presented by the Digital Finance Institute, a Vancouver-based think tank focused on next-generation financial services, financial innovation, digital finance policy and regulation, financial inclusion, and women in financial technology.

“This award is a wonderful acknowledgement of our dedication to evolving areas of law and the growth of our fintech practice, in particular,” said Ana Badour, leader of McCarthy Tétrault’s national fintech group.

“As Canada’s fintech sector continues to rapidly advance, we are developing a deep understanding of the associated business and legal issues and delivering the results our clients need. We represent clients across the fintech ecosystem and we enable them to accelerate their businesses by leveraging our extensive expertise across the sector and our relationships with leading financial institutions, fintech providers, governments and regulators.”
