Stikeman Elliott's Calgary office announces Dennis Langen has joined the firm's energy group as a partner. An energy regulatory lawyer and a professional engineer, Langen rejoins Stikeman after several years practising with another international law firm in Calgary.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dennis back to Stikeman Elliott,” said Calgary office managing partner, Leland Corbett. “His experience working in the oil and gas industry, combined with his thorough understanding of the complexities of the development and operation of energy projects, ensures practical and creative service for our energy clients in Western Canada and abroad.”

Langen has a broad understanding of the design, construction and operation of energy facilities. He advises oil and gas, mining, oil sands, power and utility industry clients on all aspects of federal and provincial energy regulation including environmental, engineering, operational, Aboriginal and market factors. He regularly appears before the National Energy Board, the Alberta Energy Regulator, the Alberta Utilities Commission and the Alberta Surface Rights Board.

He was called to the Alberta bar in 2003.
