Gowling WLG announces that Alison Gray, a widely respected commercial litigator, has joined the firm as a partner. Gray will be based in the firm’s Calgary office.

Gray was previously a partner at Bennett Jones LLP, where her practice focused largely on commercial and tax litigation, professional negligence and securities regulation. She possesses specialized expertise in the energy and construction/engineering sectors, as well as a rich background in public law, Indigenous law and fraud recovery.

Over the course of her career, Gray has represented clients in a number of complex — and often high-profile — matters. Her recent mandates include acting as trial counsel in an $80 million engineering/construction dispute, appellate counsel in an appeal from an Alberta Utilities Commission decision and co-counsel for the Intervenor Coalition in the Justice Camp inquiry.

“Alison has impressive experience leading high-stakes litigation mandates and achieving successful outcomes for her clients,” said Peter Lukasiewicz, CEO of Gowling WLG Canada. “Her tactical and creative approach to complex disputes makes her a strong addition to our commercial litigation team and a powerful advocate for our clients.”

Outside her practice, Gray is involved with numerous legal groups. She serves on the boards of the Association of Women Lawyers and Calgary Legal Guidance and is also a member of the Legal Program Committee of the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF).
