Law Commission of Ontario names board members

The Law Commission of Ontario (LCO) has announced the newest members of its board of governors.

On June 1, 2018, Linda Cardinal and Elizabeth Grace joined the board as members at large. Then, on Sept. 1, 2018, Michael Tamblyn will take up the same duties.

Cardinal is a professor of political science at the University of Ottawa where she is holder of the research chair in francophone studies and public policy. She typically writes about the politics of language regimes, state traditions, citizenship and diversity, in particular in Canada, in Quebec and in Europe.

Grace is a Toronto-based partner of Lerners LLP, where she practises civil litigation and administrative law.

Tamblyn is president and CEO of ebook company Rakuten Kobo Inc.

Additionally, Mary Condon, dean of Osgoode Hall, has joined the board as the Osgoode appointee.

Also joining was Irwin Glasberg, who has served with the Ontario Ministry of Labour, the Ontario Workers’ Compensation Board, the Information and Privacy Commissioner, the Ministry of the Attorney General, as the appointee of the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General.

The LCO expressed its thanks to departing members Mark Berlin, Maria Páez Victor and Lorne Sossin.
