Administrative lawyer rejoins Pallett Valo as senior counsel

Pallett Valo LLP announced that Maria Tassou has joined the firm as senior counsel and as a member of both the commercial litigation and employment and labour practice groups.

According to the firm's press release, her practice focuses on administrative law, workplace investigations, management training and privacy law. She will also serve as privacy officer for the firm.

Tassou articled and was a lawyer at Pallett Valo LLP from 1996-2007, before joining the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board (Ministry of the Attorney General) as a board member/adjudicator in 2007. In 2009 she was appointed vice-chair of the board and in 2014 she became the chair of the board.

Tassou has also been appointed vice-chair to several other administrative tribunals including the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, the Licence Appeal Tribunal, the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal, the Landlord Tenant Board and the Social Benefits Tribunal.
