Appeal by the defendant, Seven Oaks General Hospital, from an award of damages in favour of the plaintiffs, the Lantins, for medical negligence. In 2008, the primary plaintiff, age 16, attended the defendant hospital with flu-like symptoms. A radiologist recorded the possibility of tuberculosis. However, the report was incorrectly filed and no follow-up examination occurred. Approximately three months later, the plaintiff's tuberculosis spread to his brain where it caused a stroke and grand mal seizure.
