The Manitoba Human Rights Commission (MHRC) has both a new vice-chair and two new members.

Manitoba Justice announced that John Burchill will now serve as vice-chair, assuming the duties from Loretta Ross, who was reappointed to remain on the board for a one-year term. Currently, Burchill is a civilian manager with the Winnipeg Police Service, but in the past, he worked as a police officer for 25 years and served as a Crown attorney with Manitoba Justice.

The new appointees are Ian Grant and Tracy Leipsic.

Grant is the former chief of police of the Brandon Police Service.
Leipsic, who has experience serving on community and non-profit boards, is a speed-skating coach and former insurance broker.
