Miller Thomson partner appointed to federal advisory panel on charitable sector

Miller Thomson announced that national social impact group lead, Susan Manwaring, has been appointed to the Advisory Committee on the Charitable Sector which provides recommendations to the minister of National Revenue and commissioner of the Canada Revenue Agency on key issues facing registered charities.

According to the firm's press release, Manwaring, a partner in the firm's Toronto office, is a recognized leader in the field of social impact, advising social enterprises, charities and non-profits in her practice. She is one of 14 sector committee members, along with three members from the government, tasked with advancing “emerging issues relating to charities, and [ensuring] the regulatory environment supports the important work that charities do”.
