Dentons announced that Brian Kearl has joined the firm as a partner in the tax group.

Based in Calgary, Kearl’s practice will primarily focus on all areas of tax law, with a particular emphasis on public and private mergers and acquisitions, private equity fund formations and transactions, business reorganizations, cross-border financings and Indigenous business development.

“We are delighted to welcome Brian to the firm,” said Don Leitch, managing partner of Dentons’ Calgary office. “His knowledge of tax issues and planning techniques related to public and private companies, income trusts, First Nations and Métis taxation, corporate and commercial transactions, and cross-border migrations and transactions will be an asset to Dentons and the clients we serve.”

Kearl earned his bachelor of laws from the University of Victoria and was called to the Alberta bar in 2004.
